Cycle Back in Time

One of the first truly commissioned murals (and the largest at that time) by the Davis Odd Fellows Lodge 169, “Cycle Back in Time” was a collaboration between the Davis Mural Team and David Rosenberg. The vision of the Lodge members was that of a flowing mural about Davis, Davis Life and the Odd Fellows imagery on the side of their building. It was very important to include the images of the famous Davis Arch or the Davis Arch Mural, both of which had been destroyed many years ago. Designing such a large and detailed mural was a challenge, but eventually realized. Starting in the back of the building with the Farmer’s Market, then a banner of the Davis Arch Mural, the street pushes to the front of the building, with a family enjoying the view of the Odd Fellows Lodge and Davis water tower. John Natsoulas brought out the community to cover the 75 foot expanse, with Bill Maul working on the back third of the mural, Myron Stephens polishing up the banner of the arch, and Kerry Rowland-Avrech finished up the trees, street and foreground of the family and building.
