Adam Forfang

Adam Forfang is a visual artist born and raised in the Bay Area. After earning his BFA from the Academy of Art University San Francisco, he began showing his work in numerous solo and group shows nationwide and became a teacher. Forfang is inspired by the world around him and strives to capture light and atmospheric effects in a landscape, exploring color, shape, and composition through still life paintings and expressing mood and character in portraits.

Forfang has been teaching art for over 15 years across all ages, ranging from elementary schools, to high school, and the college level. He encourages his students to discover joy in the creative process and pull from their intrinsic motivations. Forfang believes that the arts nurture social and emotional well-being, and aims to foster a sense of community, discovery, and self-reflection in his classroom.

At present, Forfang is based in Davis and teaches visual art at Davis High School. His mural, Chromatic Sky, decorates the alley between Cafe Bernardo and Newsbeat on 2nd street.
