John Natsoulas founded the John Natsoulas Gallery nearly 30 years ago. His gallery, a three-story building brimming with fine art, includes a coffee shop and bookstore and has become one of the most important galleries in the country. In 2008, John Natsoulas Gallery was voted a  “Top Gallery in California,” one of the 250 out of 4,000 galleries chosen nationwide to be published in the Radiante Guide and, in 2013, was voted winner of the Economic Development Award for the City of Davis, California.

John Natsoulas Press, an arm of the gallery, has published over 200 artists’ catalogs and books, including a 320-page historical reference book, The Beat Generation: Galleries and Beyond.

Natsoulas serves as Art Consultant to several local and Bay Area corporations, including Embarcadero Capital Partners (in Belmont), Bio-Rad Laboratories, Inc. (Hercules, CA), and Nossaman LLP (Sacramento, CA). In 1994, he directed the Los Angeles Art Fair, which included dozens of artists’ booths and vendors. Since 2012, Natsoulas has served as co-director of Ceramics Annual of America, held in San Francisco.

John Natsoulas has organized, painted, and completed over 100 murals at various colleges, schools, and public places.  He is a member of the Davis Mural Team and was instrumental to the completion of the Davis Transmedia Art Walk, which added over 50 murals to downtown Davis.  He has been involved with over 50 different public art projects.  Additionally, he has been an art director and assisted in several major motion pictures, including Cotillion, Two Days in the Valley, and Bow Finger.  The primary focus of Natsoulas’ projects is to unite the arts community to create works of art that can be enjoyed by all.
